We’ll start with a visit to the emblematic port, a symbol of Cartagena’s ancient past and a key to its prosperity both then and now. We’ll reveal its secrets! From there, we’ll walk along the seaside to the Naval Museum, home to the famous prototype of Isaac Peral’s submarine. Next, we’ll head to Heroes of Cavite Square, where an imposing obelisk honours those who fell in battle.
Our next stop will be the Town Hall Square, home to the majestic City Hall, a standout example of Cartagena’s modernist architecture. From here, we’ll stroll down the bustling Calle Mayor, Cartagena’s main commercial street.
We’ll make our way to the city’s most prominent monument, the Roman Theatre, an essential stop on our route. We’ll continue through the centre of Cartagena, discovering key spots like San Francisco Square, a hub of local gastronomy and social life.
From this square, we’ll head up to the Roman Forum neighbourhood and climb Molinete Hill, where we’ll enjoy unmatched views and explore the Archaeological Park stretching across its summit.
We’ll circle the hill to access Calle Santa Florentina, renowned for its bakeries and churros shops, which will lead us back to Calle Mayor, the heart of Cartagena’s old town.
After approximately two hours of exploring, we’ll conclude the free tour at one of the city’s most emblematic buildings: the Grand Hotel.
